The academic program provides students with a broad and solid base of knowledge within a highly disciplined and structured environment. We seek to sharpen skills in problem solving, critical thinking and research to ensure each student's success in college. This is made possible by the student teacher ratio of 15:1 and an average class of 20 students.
Accreditation
Presbyterian Pan American School is fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Currently, a four-year student who graduates from Pan American School, must have a minimum of 27 credits.
Following the revisions of the Texas State Graduation Requirements by the State Board of Education, Pan American School adopted the Recommended High School Program which calls for 24 credits. In addition, three credits of Bible study is required. Students who wish to challenge themselves further may choose to graduate under the Distinguished Achievement Program. These graduation requirements have been approved by the Board of Trustees and have gone into effect with the Freshman and Sophomore class of 1996-97.
College Placement
Our guidance counselor takes an active role in assisting students in selecting a college, providing
scholarship information, and clarifying the application process. Almost all of our graduates go on to colleges
and universities either here in the United States or in their home country.
Since 1982, our graduates have attended many colleges and universities in the United States and in Mexico. Click the Colleges link on the menu to the left.
Intensive English Program
This four week program will help new students
adjust to campus life while they are being tutored in English by teachers
and by returning students. This program takes place every summer from
July to August.
