We have a minute for Mission now from one of the students at Pan American. Camila Arjona.  Good morning!  My name is Cameron Arjona, and I am 18 years old. When people ask me where I am from I automatically think Mexico City since that is where I have lived most of my life.  However, I currently live in Denver, Colorado. I was born in Los Angeles, California, and I spent my middle school life living in Princeton, New Jersey.  While, all of these places have shaped who I am today. Mexico is what I consider home since this is where both of my parents are from and where my extended family currently lives/ This is my fourth year at Presbyterian Pan American School, and I am now a senior.  Coming to Pan Am had always been a definite fact because both of my parents attended school there when they were in high school. So, at a young age they talked about the friendships and the memories they made that will last a lifetime.  This is why I decided to come to Pan Am at 14 years of age. When I first arrived I was filled with excitement - well that is until the time I had to say goodbye to my parents. At this time, I was struck by the fact that I could no longer rely on their help with laundry or homework or just hard days overall. During the first few weeks at Pan Am I struggled to cope with this realization. Nonetheless, I soon learned that even though I did not have my parents anymore I had gained a new kind of support system. Since most of us live on campus at Pan Am we are forced into a bond that is much stronger than the average high school friendships. I have met people at Pan Am that I know I can rely on it as if they were my brothers and sisters.  in addition, at Pan Am, we learn to develop friendships with people from all over the world.  After a couple of years all students end up speaking proficient English, but what I find more interesting is that Korean students end up being able to understand a conversation in Spanish, and Mexican students end up understanding a couple of words of Chinese or Rwandan or  Korean. It is truly an international atmosphere that prepares Pan Am students for a successful future.  I am not yet sure of what the future will hold for me, but I know that I am in God's hands and that wherever I go I will carry on the lessons and friendships that I established here at Pan Am. I am glad that this is my last year of high school, but I know that I'll end up missing it once I am gone. Overall I am very grateful for this opportunity, and I thank God that He has allowed me to study at Pan Am.  I would like to thank all of you for having us here and for letting me share a small part of my experience. Thank you!
