Eagles Overtake Javelinas at University Symposium

On Friday (04/29/2022) students from PPAS accompanied by one of our teachers, Mrs. Jimenez, traveled to Texas A&M University Kingsville to compete against college students in a University Symposium. These were the only high school students in the area attending this, and the only ones competing as well.

The team formed by students Priscilla Garcia, Eunjae Sung, and  Calvin Nzeyimana won first place in the competition.

In response to this achievement, Mrs. Jimenez left all the students participating with some wisdom and encouragement to reflect upon as they move forward academically:

"I want to express to you all how proud I feel of each one of you. What you did yesterday at TAMUK's symposium was unprecedented. No High School has ever competed against university level students and won first place, at least at TAMUK. This is amazing, and you guys did it! I want to encourage you guys to continue to work hard, regardless of who mentors you. These types of events make history, and what you guys did will remain as part of TAMUK's and Pan Am's records.”

We'd like to congratulate the students who participated once again, as well as our teachers and staff for giving students the tools they need in the class room and guiding them along towards academic success
