b'In the Nest: Around Campus Y ae Won Choi is, in some ways, a typical daughter of a Presbyterian pastor. She has grown up in the church. As a gifted violinist and singer, she is comfortable singing in church choirs and providing service music with her violin. In other ways, Yae Won is unique. Although her family is from South Korea, they are currently serving the church in Hungary. At Pan Am, each student is encouraged to be well rounded. Yae Won participates innumerous extra-curricular activities on campus, such as basketball, cross country, cam-pus ministry, and the Morris Chapel Choir, which travels to churches all over Texas each year. When asked to describe her Pan Am experience, Yae Won remarked:Studying at Pan Am has been an enlightening experience for me. This was my first time enrolling in a school in the United States, very far from my home. In my opinion, the most significant thing that I have learned in my two years at Pan Am is how to be independent. At home, my parents would help me with everything. However, at school about 140 other peers need the same attention from the faculty. This experience has improved my problem solving and critical thinking skills, and I believe that my Pan Am journey is preparing me for life.Yae Won recently completed her junior year of studies at Pan Am. She will be returning in the fall to begin her senior yearpoised and ready to graduate with the Class of 2020!2018-2019 PPAS student body by countryOther countries include Germany, Guatemala, Hungary, Kenya, Spain, and Venezuela'
