b'From Passion to Purpose: Linda Jacob Evans Memorial Scholarship FundScholarship Fund. Each year, a scholarship is presented to a returning student who, like Linda, best exemplifies the ideals of friendship, service to others, and social justice. In May 2019, David presented the first scholarship award to PPAS junior Jonathan Velazquez. Lindas legacy will continue to live through helping students achieve their academic dreams and goals at PPAS. Creating and funding a scholarship for one of our students is a wonderful way to honor someone in your life who was passionate about education and mission. Please contact our Development Office at 361-592-4307 to learn more about this opportunity. L inda Jacob Evans and her husband Rev. David Evans had just moved to Corpus Christi in 1997 and were unpacking when former PPAS President Jerry Tompkins called asking her to help with church and donor relations at the school. Linda quickly fell in love with the students, the school, and its mission. She felt called to increase awareness among Presbyterians about the wonderful work that was taking place in this small, rural South Texas town called Kingsville. Linda worked at Pan Am until 2003, when Austin called her and David back to serve at Austin Seminary. But, in 2009, Linda was once again called to return to PPAS, and she remained as Church Relations Director until 2014 when she decided to retire to spend more time with her 5 grandchildren.Sadly, Linda passed away on November 9, 2017 after a battle with glioblastoma.PPAS Junior Jonathan Velazquez and David EvansIn celebration of Lindas life and her legacy to PPAS,www.ppas.org|Page 7her family created the Linda Jacobs Evans Memorial'
