The Rotary Club of Kingsville announces a Student of the Month each month from September - May during the school year. The program recognizes achievement, leadership, and helps to support high school students in their transition to higher education. This award is accompanied by a $500 scholarship that will be matched by TAMUK if the student chooses to attend TAMUK following their high school graduation.
We are ecstatic to announce our very own students have won this award for two consecutive months by meeting the Rotary club criteria for the award, with that being:
- Shows special effort and/or talent in academic achievements
- Demonstrates self-discipline, positive team/group concept, contributions in extracurricular activities
- Respects and abides by school rules/policies
- Models good citizenship through a positive attitude
- Handles success and defeat with maturity
The award and scholarship were handed to Joyce Simbi in February, and Jose Coronado in March. We applaud their hard work and hope we can announce more PPAS students as recipients of this award in the future...Go Eagles!
